I served 20 years in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer, Airborne Jump-Master, and Heavy Engineer Technical Inspector. My tour of service took me to many countries and states such as: Texas, Georgia, Missouri,Kansas, New York, and California. I served in Germany, South Korea, Honduras, and Irag during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
After retirement from the military, I finished my degree at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC and started teaching at Purnell Swett High School in Pembroke, North Carolina in 1997. After teaching for two years in Robeson County I was offered a position at IBM as a Graphics Designer at the Education Center. I also began teaching at Durham Technical Community College at night as a Adjunct Educator. After four years at IBM I returned to teaching students in 2004 at Riverwood Middle School in Clayton, North Carolina. I taught there for 10 years and was later offered a position as a Business Education Teacher at Durant Road Middle School in 2014 to present. Parents can contact me via my e-mail at [email protected] or at 919-870-4098. I love teaching and believe the students we teach today will be our leaders of tomorrow and I want to give those students every opportunity to excel to their utmost and be "All they can Be" I am currently involved with establishing a faculty/staff band at Durant Road Middle School. Getting fellow co-workers to focus on an extracurricular activity, I believe, is a great motivator for our teachers and staff, to help relieve stress and have a clearer picture of the school's academic structure. I also lead the Veterans Group at my church in Raleigh, North Carolina. |
